Level One reading books to start your child’s reading journey with.

In a previous article I have stressed about how important it is to read with your child, you can read that here. Below I have attached some level 1 reading books that will help support your child’s early learning development skills. These are great books to be have at home to encourage your children to find a love for reading, with lots of bright colours and pictures.

Oxford Reading Tree: Level 1 Songbird Phonics (6 Books)

In this collection you will get 6 phonic reading books that are all level 1, starting easy, written by Julia Donaldson. They all focus on matching one letter with one sound and are nonfiction so they are fun and colorful which helps keep your children engaged. The more engaging the story is the more likely the child is going to enjoy reading and not see it as a chore. They all have small sentences with big three letter words so they’re not overwhelming and daunting. In my experience, when there is too much text on one page, some younger children tend to switch off and decide they don’t want to continue reading.
